Our Story: From Frustration to Foundation

 

The idea for BellyEase was born, quite literally, out of a moment of discomfort and inspiration.

Our founder, April, a fashion designer by trade, was well into her second trimester. She found herself constantly adjusting bulky, utilitarian maternity supports that provided relief but felt stiff and restrictive. One evening, after struggling to find a band that worked under a chic evening dress, she realized a critical gap in the market: why did women have to choose between functional support and feeling fashionable?

April spent the rest of her pregnancy drafting sketches and testing prototypes. She worked to fuse the engineering of orthopedic support with the seamless, soft-touch fabric used in high-end athletic wear. She rejected harsh lines and scratchy velcro, opting instead for a discreet, elegant contour that felt like a second skin.

The very first BellyEase band was created for April herself, designed to be worn effortlessly under any outfit—from yoga pants to a business suit. When friends and strangers began asking where she got her stylish, supportive band, April knew she had something special.

In 2021, BellyEase was officially launched with a singular mission: to empower expectant mothers by providing them with maternity bands that offer firm, reliable relief for the back and pelvis, all while maintaining the wearer's personal sense of style and confidence.
